Let The Training Begin

I love the atmosphere in this picture, I can imagine it as a still shot from an animation. You did a great job of making the characters dynamic, and I like the contrast between the movement of the two smaller characters and the still, hulking strength of the large one. The lighting and colouring make it seem to me like they’re about to start some sort of training montage after getting their butt whooped!!

I really like the expressiveness of the characters, and how you’ve portrayed bits of them not only through their facial expressions but through their body language. I know nothing about any of them, yet I think I could get a sense of how each would be acting in this particular scene - the wolf character not wanting to go along with what’s going on, the smaller skull being a bit quiet and shy but determined to work, and the big skull being confident and threatening. 

I like how you’ve used the shadows and light to underline the muscle definition - you did a great job with the shapes in this, it looks very 3-D. However I do feel like the smaller skull character is blending into the big guys’ arm a little too much - some stronger shadows could be used to separate their bodies a little more. I think you could probably up the contrast a little more and play with some brighter highlights in places as well to really sell the drama that’s going on.

I think you did a fantastic job of showing a little story snippet through this image, I like how it captures my imagination and makes me wonder about the characters. Keep up the great work!
